1. About Insight, and what these terms cover
Insight provides training and supervision in psychodynamic psychotherapy, delivered in person and online. Our programs are convened by Robert Schweitzer and Rebecca Bargenquast, and taught by experienced registered psychologists and other appropriately qualified professionals.
These terms govern your use of this website and your participation in any Insight program. By using the website or enrolling in a program, you agree to them.
Our handling of personal information is set out separately in our Privacy Policy, which covers supervision records, session recordings, and the circumstances in which we may be required to disclose information.
2. What our programs are, and are not
Our programs are educational. They are designed to develop knowledge, skill and reflective capacity in psychodynamic psychotherapy among practitioners who are already qualified.
They are not clinical care. Nothing on this website or in our programs constitutes individual psychological assessment, advice or treatment. Enrolling does not create a psychologist–client relationship between you and any member of the Insight faculty. Where a faculty member also offers individual clinical services, that is a separate professional relationship with its own consent process.
Insight does not provide therapy to members of the public.
Outcomes are not guaranteed. Our programs draw on approaches with an established evidence base, but every practitioner’s circumstances differ. We do not guarantee any particular result from participation.
Endorsement is a matter for the Psychology Board. Insight provides the group supervision and continuing professional development components of a registrar program. You remain responsible for arranging the balance of your individual supervision, accruing your practice hours, obtaining Board approval of your registrar program before it begins, and meeting all requirements for endorsement. We can assist with the application, but we cannot guarantee that endorsement will be granted.
Continuing professional development. Australian practitioners self-determine their continuing professional development and are responsible for ensuring that activities meet their own registration requirements. Our programs are designed as active, peer-based professional development. We consider that they meet the criteria for active CPD, though that assessment properly rests with each practitioner keeping records and meeting requirements.
3. Enrolment and eligibility
Our programs are intended for registered psychologists and other qualified health practitioners. Specific eligibility for each program is set out on the relevant program page.
You must be at least 18 years of age.
When you apply, you agree to provide accurate and current information and to tell us if it changes.
Places are offered following review of your application. A place is confirmed on receipt of your deposit.
We reserve the right to decline an application where we consider that a program is not the best fit for an applicant's learning needs or experience. Where possible, we will suggest a more appropriate option.
We may end a participant’s enrolment where these terms are breached, including the confidentiality obligations in section 6. Where we do so, section 5 applies to any refund.
4. Fees and payment
Current fees are published on the relevant program page and are payable in Australian dollars.
A deposit is required to accept an offered place and is credited towards your first term.
Fees are payable in advance of each term. Due dates are provided with your enrolment confirmation and subsequent invoices.
Because places are limited, fees for a term that has commenced are generally not refundable. Fees paid for future terms are dealt with in accordance with the Refunds and Deferral Policy (Section 5).
Any advertised early bird fee applies in accordance with the conditions published at the time of application.
GST applies where required by Australian law.
Where individual supervision is arranged directly with an Insight supervisor, it is a separate professional arrangement between the participant and the supervisor unless otherwise stated.
5. Refunds, withdrawal and deferral
5.1 Before the program begins
When you notify us – Within 10 business days of paying deposit. Deposit refund – 100%.
When you notify us – After 10 business days, but ≥21 days before first session. Deposit refund – 50%.
When you notify us – Less than 21 days before first session. Deposit refund – No refund.
Term fees paid in advance are refunded in full if you withdraw before the program begins. Only the deposit is subject to the schedule above.
The deposit is not refundable once the program has begun. Fees paid for terms already commenced are dealt with in section 4.
5.2 Deferral and transfer
If your circumstances change, we encourage you to contact us. Where possible, we will work with you to find an appropriate option, which may include deferral, transfer or refund in accordance with this policy.
Deferral. If your circumstances change, you may apply to defer your place to the next intake. Where we agree, your deposit and any term fees transfer and no refund charge applies. Deferral depends on a place being available.
Transfer. If another Insight program would suit you better, we can usually transfer your enrolment without penalty.
5.3 If Insight cancels or changes a program
If we cancel a program for any reason — including insufficient enrolments, faculty unavailability, or circumstances beyond our control — you will receive a full refund of everything you have paid, whenever the cancellation occurs.
If we make a material change after you have enrolled — to the day or time of sessions, the mode of delivery, or the fee — you may withdraw and receive a full refund for any term not yet completed.
6. Confidentiality
Insight programs involve group discussion of clinical work. Confidentiality within the group is a condition of participation.
Participants must not disclose outside the group any clinical material, personal reflection, identifiable material about another group member, or other confidential information shared during a session.
Participants remain responsible for de-identifying their own clinical material, for obtaining any consent required from their own patients before presenting it, and for meeting their own professional confidentiality obligations.
We take this seriously and will act on any breach that comes to our attention, including by ending a participant’s enrolment. However, we cannot control what other participants do, and we cannot guarantee that every participant will observe these obligations. Please exercise your own judgement about what you choose to disclose in a group setting.

7. Recording of sessions
By Insight. We record some teaching sessions so that participants who cannot attend may view them afterwards. We do this only with the consent of everyone present, and you may ask that a session not be recorded, or that your contribution be removed, without giving a reason and without consequence for your participation. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
By participants. You must not record any session, in whole or in part, without the express consent of everyone present. Recordings made available to you must not be downloaded, copied, shared or republished.
8. Course materials and intellectual property
All Insight course content — curriculum, teaching materials, recordings, written materials and course design — is owned by or licensed to Insight and protected by copyright.
On enrolment you are granted a personal, non-transferable licence to use that content for your own professional development. You may not:
share materials or access with any other person;
copy, reproduce, resell or redistribute any content;
use, reproduce or substantially adapt Insight's curriculum, course structure or proprietary teaching materials for the purpose of developing or delivering another training program or
remove any copyright or proprietary notice.
Nothing in these terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you.
9. Attendance & Participation
Participants are responsible for meeting the attendance requirements applicable to their program. Where participation forms part of a registrar program, Insight can only verify supervision or training hours actually completed in accordance with the relevant requirements.
10. Use of this website
You agree not to use this website for any unlawful purpose, to attempt unauthorised access to our systems, or to interfere with its operation.
If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account.
We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted or error-free.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to section 12, Insight and its faculty, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of this website or participation in our programs.
Where a faculty member is a registered psychologist, that registration relates to their individual clinical practice. It does not extend liability for educational content beyond what is set out in these terms.
12. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under Australian Consumer Law.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, with the date of the most recent update at the top.
The version in effect on the date you pay your deposit applies to your enrolment for the whole of that enrolment.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
